What are you going to do after your trip? |

Julia:
The end of our journey is close and we try to enjoy the remaining
weeks in New Zealand. We are sitting a bit between two chairs,
though. On the one hand we plan the route for the next days, the
daily distance and the supplies of food we need. There is no change
to our former way of traveling. On the other hand we are constantly
asked, what we are going to do after our trip, as soon as we tell
someone that we are going home after New Zealand. And of course we
ask ourselves the same question and probably some of you are
wondering as well.

Church in Christchurch :) Holm: The big bird extends his
wheels and touches down on solid soil a few moments later. We set our
feet on the 20th country of this journey – New Zealand.
We are on the other end of the world. On the one hand we arrived, on
the other hand we did not reach our goal yet. The real goal from the
first moment on was the way and he will end in three month time back
home in Germany. But before we can think more about, how it feels to
be here, the clerks of the quarantineagency stand in front of us and
examine our bicycles, shoes and camping gear, if there is any foreign
soil on it. But due to our intense shrubbing and cleaning, there are
no problems – only jokes and laughter.

With Ian and Anitra Julia: For
almost half a year we have been in Australia now, the longest we
stayed in any country so far. A quick look on the map shows, that we
already did cycle quite some kilometers but still have seen only a
tiny bit of these huge country. We have seen once the comparison of
Europe´s size with the one of Australia on a postcard: you can
easily fit Europe into Australia. For the last days we store our
bikes in Sydney at a friends place and head off again to visit some
friends, this way covering a lot more kilometers than with the bikes.
